About this demo

Alderwick is a fictional city. Antoxmedia designed and built this concept site to show how we approach city websites. Nothing here is a real government service, and no form sends any data.

How we would build yours

  1. 1.

Discovery and content audit. Interviews with staff, analytics review, a page-by-page inventory of what to keep, merge or retire.

  2. 2.

Structure. A sitemap built around resident tasks, tested with real residents before design starts.

  3. 3.

Design. Two rounds of design on the key templates, checked for accessibility before a line of code.

  4. 4.

Build. WordPress block theme when the RFP calls for WordPress (every section of this demo maps to an editable block), or a headless setup when it does not.

  5. 5.

Migration and testing. Content moved and cleaned, automated and manual accessibility testing, keyboard and screen reader passes.

  6. 6.

Training and launch. Recorded training for editors, a written guide, and 30 days of close support after launch.

  7. 7.

Care. Monthly hosting, updates, backups, security monitoring and content help on a fixed plan.

Under the hood

This demo is a static site: every page is prebuilt and served from a global CDN, so it loads fast on rural connections and old phones. Type is Manrope throughout. The map and city seal are hand-drawn SVG, so they stay sharp at any zoom and weigh almost nothing. The photographs are AI-generated pictures of a town that does not exist; a real build uses the city's own photography.

Measured, not claimed

Google Lighthouse, mobile profile with a throttled connection, run on October 17, 2026 across the home, meetings, report a problem, contact, news and government pages:

The search score is low on purpose: Alderwick is not a real city, so the site asks search engines not to index it. Automated checks are a floor, not proof; on client projects we add manual keyboard and screen reader testing.
